Key responsibilities
• Handle press enquiries, including ones from the international media on an everyday basis via telephone, email and networking;
• Build up and maintain media contact database;
• Write and, in some cases, initiate press releases and background information for media, translate and edit materials for international events and activities;
• Arrange press conferences, news briefings, media interviews, media tours;
• Assist the communication team with monitoring press coverage;
• Keep up to date with current issues and public opinions;
• Advise on media potential of campaign plans and materials, help co-ordinate timing of events to prevent conflict;
• Ad-hoc administrative tasks.
Skills and qualifications
• Relevant education and experience in journalism and communication;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Knowledge of Russian media landscape;
• The ability to think and work at a global level;
• Fluent spoken and good written English is essential;
• Creative mind;
• Able to effectively manage and prioritize your own workload;
• Highly personable and positive telephone manner;
• Supportive of Greenpeace values;
• Experience in the NGO would be an advantage.
Specific work environment
The position is for the time-limited project (Full time role)
This position reports to the Head of the Press Desk
It is 5 day work week
Salary 33000 rouble per month
Most of the time the job can be performed during office hours but there is
a real need for flexibility during work-peaks
This position is based in Moscow (Belorusskaya metro station)
