The present publication presents the findings of the surveys, over the course of which the attitude of the Russian people towards philanthropy and philanthropic organizations has been revealed and public expectations with regards to the most relevant directions and forms of philanthropic activities have been analyzed.
Classical polls, focus-groups and expert interviews allowed the authors to collect diverse data used as a basis for identifying key priorities of population, donor organizations and NGOs in the sphere of philanthropy and for describing coordination between philanthropic organizations and the government.
The surveys were initiated by the Donors Forum – a non-governmental association for leading Russian, foreign and international grant-giving organizations - and conducted by Juri Levada’s Analytical Centre and the Agency for Social Information.
